STARS GYMNASTICS CLUB

Welcome to Stars Gymnastics Club. We are a local club within West Sussex that offers gymnastics to pre school children through to selected squad gymnasts in our Women's Artistic programme. In between, we cater for children at recreational level who only wish to train for one or two hours a week.

We operate from three venues: Steyning Grammar School, Henfield Leisure Centre and in September '09, Lancing Leisure Centre. We also operate a number of satellite clubs in surrounding schools through our partnership with Stars Coaching Agency, aiming to deliver gymnastics to every child regardless of location.

Various classes are offered right across the week delivered by fully qualified BG Gymnastics Coaches who have undergone all of the stringent child protection checks. They are ably assisted by a number of Stars Gym Club ex-gymnasts to enable small groups and a very low teacher to pupil ratio.

The club has just gained it's Gym Mark Award where parents, guardians and carers can be assured that:

• The level of the coach will be appropriate for the class and the coach to gymnast ratio will be as per the British Gymnastics' recommendation
• Appropriate and comprehensive insurance cover is available
• Policies and procedures exist in case of accidents, complaints etc…
• All coaches, new staff and volunteers for regulated positions have an approved British Gymnastics Criminal Records Bureau disclosure
• The club has a code of ethics and conduct for coaches, judges, volunteers, parents and gymnasts
• The club is actively involved in development
• The club actively recognises its volunteers

In 2009, we supported a charity called ‘Game of 2 halves’ which is a key project to help obtain sports equipment and coaching for street children in an Indian Orphanage.  We donated a percentage of all proceeds raised from events towards this fantastic cause.  We feel strongly that our own children are so fortune to have access to so many diverse sports and facilities, where other children in the world don’t even have their basic needs met.  If you share our passion for helping children have a better life, then please donate some money to this fantastic charity. Next year, our focus will be to coach gymnastics to African Orphans, in Tanzania, Africa. Mandy will be travelling in August, hopefully with some sponsored British Gymnastics equipment, to teach enthusiastic orphaned children run by a British Christian Missionary in Tanzania. Hopefully the Gymnast Magazine will be running an editorial on the trip and any donations would be gratefully received. The proceeds of our Club Championships in 2010 will be going to this worthy cause.
